Like do you take the exact color of your skin or a shade lighter or darker. Like for powder and foundation and all that stuff.

I would match it as close to your skin tone for that season. Your skin is naturally darker in the summertime and lighter in the wintertime.

well powder is better than foundation, cuz it doesnt show as much, also u should take the same shade as ur skin, so it looks natural.. the best way to find it out, is to go to sephora n ask some of the professionals there, they’ll help u find ur rite color..

I have a foundation but its really expensive ($ 80) and its the best, i cant even explain how good it is.
anyways its 2 tones darker then my skin and it makes my skin look lighter(weird)
so whenever i buy Foundations i ask the persons if i can test it, so just put a little dap on your hand to see how the color is:)
Yeah it’s supposed to match as close as you can get to your skin color, unless you have a lot of discoloration…if you have discoloration, then go with what it’d look like if you had no problems with your skin (example: ruddiness)
For eye shadow I would deff match your eyes. Anything that makes it pop. Like if you have blue eyes do brown to make them pop, or if you have brown eyes maybe purple or blue. Oh and if you have summer, winter, spring colors, also match the season.
Foundation & powders ; it’s always best to test on actual clean and moisturized skin. The skin is free from make-up. Choose the colour that matches exactly your actual skin colour & tone. It will not look too light or too dark, just blended into the actual skin.
The next important face makeup is blusher. Choose a tone that is the same or closest colour that you will have after you have exercised. That healthy flush of colour will always ensure that you will look radiant and healthy.
Brow pencils/brow powder colour should softly define the brows and a too dark colour will make you look angry and older. A too light colour will give an obvious look, or a no eyebrow look , which you do not want or need. People with blonde/very light red hair will look good with taupe eyebrow pencil. Red haired people/light brown haired look good with a light brown/chestnut brown eyebrow colour. Brunettes will look best in mahogany brown or dark brown eyebrow pencils. For people with soft black hair or very black hair , their eyebrows will look best in brown black or soft black eyebrow pencils.
For lip sticks & glosses , choose colours that 1-2 shades darker than your natural lip colour. Another option is to choose colours that brighten your complexion ; even if you are not wearing any make-up.
Make-up is to enchance the features that you have , not to overwhelm or alter your look in a drastic manner (unless you are in the performance art or modelling haute coutue on the runway or your working as a clown or doing an editorial for a fashion magazine. )
